Hands of Grace and Mercy embarked on a two-week mission trip to Ghana, specifically to a village called Pipie in the Bosomtwe District in the Ashanti Region. The mission to Pipie in Ghana was the fourth time Hands of Grace has visited the village. Hands of Mercy has adopted the village, and it is doing many great works to help the village and the people in the community. Pipie is situated near Lake Bosomtwe. Lake Bosomtwe is the largest natural lake in Ghana. It is one of the best-preserved meteorite lakes in the world. The village is amongst 22 villages around the lake. It is a small-scale farming community and most of the youth there travel to cities like Kumasi and Accra to seek greener pastures. The community has a high rate of poverty, unemployment, teenage pregnancy, and school dropout. It also faces other significant challenges, including lack of library, computer laboratory and quality education for the schoolchildren. Moreover, roads leading to the village are very bad, they are unpaved, get flooded, have big potholes and gutters, become very dusty in the dry season and make the movement of people and goods very difficult especially during the rainy season. Even though the village is situated near the lake, the main means of transportation in the village are motorbikes. They do not have any means of transportation on the lake and cars too do not go there frequently because of the nature of the roads except about three Taxis that go there on a daily basis.
Hands of Grace and Mercy upon adopting the village has made significant contributions to the community to help solve some of the problems by changing lives and making great impact. The organization has given scholarships to more than five students who come from the village but are schooling in other towns and cities in Ghana. it has also given scholarships to more than six students who are in Primary and Junior High School in the village. The organization has also established different groups in the village and provide them with education and skills training. Above all, Hands of Grace and Mercy is building a Library, Computer Laboratory, Skills Training Centre and a big Community Centre for the community. The goal of the 2026 mission trip was to assess the progress of the projects, interact with the community members, provide some skills training, do a health fair for the community, host a community feeding program and also preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.
